Repairs
Sep 18th, 2006, 7:58pm

We have the ability to some repairs to gauge clusters that aren't working.

Some examples of repairs we have done in the past include:

1. The odometer on a gsxr gauge was showing "--------". (We found several pins on the CPU chip had broken solder joints and made necessary repairs)
2. Buttons not working (found a trace on the PCB that had corroded and caused an open circuit)
3. Broken mounting tabs on back cover (replaced the rear cover)
4. Burned out stock LED's (replaced LED's with equivalent LED's)
5. A customer had a friend work on his gauge and severely damaged the leads on the LCD trying to do a backlight modification.
6. A competitor had melted a pushbutton and had several LED's not working after doing a backlight modification. (We made all necessary repairs and put better LED's in that our competitor was using)
7. A customer supplied us with 2 broken gauges that we were able to make one good one from.
8. A customer needed an LCD replaced that we just happened to have in our parts bins from parts off another gauge that was broken beyond repair.
9. We had a RC51 gauge that would only light the backlight. (found a bad zener diode causing several chips on the board to not get enough voltage - repaired to OEM spec)
10. A customer sent in his gsxr 600 gauge that had nothing on the LCD showing up. We found and repaired the corrosion damage and did the repair for only $25 since the customer added a backlight modification at the same time.
11. A customer sent in his gauge after trying to do a backlight modification on his own. Turns out he had every single LED in backwards and none of the backlights worked at all. We made all necessary repairs and restored the gauge to like new condition.

We are usually the ones that our competition comes to when they need someone to bail them out of messing up their customers gauges.
Even if we can't fix it, we may still be able to use some of the parts and usually we make an offer to purchase the broken gauge. We have even accepted broken gauges as payment for other services.

All estimates are free. If you need the gauges returned, there is a small shipping charge.  Email or post below for more info.

I can take a look. I wont charge for looking at it. You will be responsible for only the shipping charges.

If it can be done, It will probably cost less than $20 to do. I should be able to do it but I wont know until I see it.

I have a 2004 gsxr 600 and the gauges that I got off ebay crapped out a week after I bought them.  It basically just shows "0mph" and when I hit a rough bump they basically act like I turned the key off then right back on.  I was gonna have you guys change the mileage anyways, but does this sound like something that y'all can fix while you're in there?

I can gladly take a look.  But are you sure you dont have a wiring issue?  First check that the connector is properly installed all the way in the back of the gauge until you hear it click / lock into place. If it is showing 0 mph, your speed signal wire may not be connected and if it powers off when you hit a bump, you are losing connection on either the power or ground wires.

What exactly is missing, the rubber buttons or the plastic button extensions that are inside?

I have a 2003 CBR954RR and the gauges are not working at all.  The background lights and the top indicator lights (neutral, turn, high beams) all work fine, its just the digital readout and the tach are motionless.  What do I need to do to have you look at it?  Thanks in advance!

Hello, i have a good one for you.

The bike is a 2000 Suzuki Hayabusa.

The speedo just stopped working today.

Tested the speed sensor, and its good, as well as swapping it out.

Tested the wiring from the speed sensor, the the gauge cluster, all good.

Still no speedo, as well as no odometer witch seams to have reset to zero, and climbing!

Also the clock is not working properly!

Next i installed another set of gauges, and everything works great!

Is this something you are able to look at?

POssibly, corrupted the eeprom.... do you by any chance have HID lights installed?   Those have been known to cause your situation.

Either way, I have fixed that issue before and would be happy to take a look for you.
